The Nigerian equities market closed the week on a positive note, up by 40bps today to settle at 97,745.97 points. Key stocks on the gainers chart were Zenithbank (+2.86%), GTCO (+2.27%), Oando (+10.00%), Presco (+6.78%), Okomu (+10.00%), Total (+9.98%), Accesscorp (+1.36%), UBA (+1.26%), Transcorp (+1.82%), Ucap (+9.95%), Guinness (+4.10%) and Custodian (+6.55%) to mention a few. On the flipside, Dangsugar (-0.87%) was the key loser today. Meanwhile, blue chips stocks; Dangcem, Geregu, Buacem and Buafoods were quiet today and closed flat. FBNH also closed flat.
Market turnover stood at N3.95 billion ($2.4 million), largely driven by trades in UBA, Guinness, Zenithbank and MTNN. We expect the market to maintain its current levels in the coming session.
